| Mesquite....
is growing faster than any city in
Nevada. Busting at the seams with growth in all sectors,
Mesquite truly is a "Diamond in the Desert". 2005 was a banner year for Mesquite with the addition of the new Mesa
View Hospital. Housing startups have been at record levels and
with the addition of a new Wal-Mart Supercenter, Mesquite is
set for a new phase of commercial development.

The Desert Valley
Times Editor Bill McClure reported on January 24, 2006 that "
Mesquite's building boom took a quantum jump in 2005, setting
new records in virtually every category of construction.
The biggest jump came in single-family residential permits.
Builders pulled 599
single-family permits valued at $72.8 million in 2005, compared
to 453 permits valued at $60.6 million in 2004. Another
big jump came in multi-family resident permits. Builders
pulled 38 multi-family permits valued at $10.4 million in 2005
compared to 16 valued at $5.6 million in 2004. Some 157
projects valued at $1.3 million were done in 2005 compared with
80 valued at $591,000 in 2004." Construction was also big
news in Mesquite " Some 31 permits valued at $43.5 million
were pulled in 2005 compared to 18 valued at $5 million in
2004. The projects included the Do it Best distribution
center and Wal-Mart".
Golf blazes through the desert
landscape with new courses like the Canyon's and the completion
of the Falcon Ridge golf course. These two new jewels have
golfers climbing over each other to challenge these new
fairways.
New restaurants are springing up
on the hilltops with delicious entrees including "Buffalo
Tenderloin", filet mignon, prime rib and a full array of salads.
